Deliciously pink and green spring wedding dresses & ideas with Madeline Isaac-James!
The much-anticipated 2014 collection from Madeline Isaac-James uses a range of beautiful fabrics which have been sourced from all over the world, with an emphasis on silk chiffons and the finest silk tulles to create a soft, elegant look.
Silk tulle in particular is used throughout the new collection – from layer upon layer of the softest, finest silk tulle in full-skirted gowns, to a subtle hint of tulle used as a finishing touch. Lace will also feature highly throughout the 2014 Collection with some new and unusual laces being used, and as with the 2013 Collection, the gowns are also lined in silk providing the ultimate luxury for brides from the inside out.

Bright and beautiful neon flowers – the inspiration
Heather from Evelyn Cole flowers explains, “Creating the flower palette for this photoshoot was a fun but also tricky task. Bold neon colours if not partnered well can be garish but the trick is always to incorporate green into the palette. Green has a calming effect and compliments every colour.
The common misconception is that bright and bold colours are for the summer months, however this whole shoot was stylized in February and I think we illustrated that for any bride looking to bring some energy and colour to their wedding day it is possible to find flowers that are bold in the winter/spring months.
Contrary to what is usually thought there are quite a few flowers available in the late winter and early spring months in bright and bold colours including Ranunculus, Garden Rose varieties from Colombia and Kenya and Chrysanthemums.
We combined bright and bold fuschia pink ranunculus and Bouvardia with garden roses including Piano “Pink”, deep “Blue Berry”, lighter pink “Sudoku” and fragrant “Augusta Luise” coral pink garden roses.
Green was bought into the palette by vibrant lime green Viburnum Opulus, fun Bupleurum, Eryngium (Sea Holly), Hypericum berries, Cymbidium and Dendrobium Orchids and Chrysantheum ‘Anastasia Green’.
We created two bouquet designs for the shoot. One a handtied bouquet with a twist. Moving away from the traditional solid round tight bouquet shape, we twisted ivy around the bouquet leaving some trails to flow down, perfect for brides looking to draw emphasis down the length of their gown but not wishing to opt for a full shower bouquet.
The shower bouquet we created in a palette of solely green, yellow and white was our modern take on what is viewed as a traditional bouquet style. We selected large Chrysantheum “Anastasia Green” as one of the key flowers, this was complimented by “Limbo” yellow / green roses and white Eucharis orchids and silver wire trails with green hypericum berries threaded onto the wire. We wanted to illustrate that even the most unusual choice of wedding flowers could be beautiful, and just love the look the Chrysanthemums bring to the bouquet.
For the table centre pieces we created several low designs and a tall design. Two of our favourite low designs perfect for round banqueting tables are the round design decorated with silver birch bark, which we incorporated tea lights into and the willow wreath design, which we wrapped in pink and green wool, ivy and roses finished with pillar candles in the centre.
For long banqueting tables we fixed glass test tubes into a base of candle wax and filled these with pink ranunculus and green bupleurum foliage. Several of these positioned down the middle of a long banqueting table would look beautiful. We imagined flowers almost growing up out of the centre of the table creating a floral table runner.
