2014 SPRING WEDDING DRESS TRENDS

When it comes to wedding dresses, it is the one time that your dress is truly special. Brides want something beautiful and flattering for their big day and if it’s super fashionable as well, all the better!
For those brides who are tying the knot in 2014, there are lots of trends already appearing on designers catwalks from which we can take inspiration to find ‘THE’ dress. Some of the latest trends may surprise you as they pay homage to fashions of bygone years with a new, fresh twist.

Gloves

If the designers’ catwalks are anything to go by, Spring 2014 will see wedding gowns paired with gloves. We’re not talking woolly mittens here but elegant lace wrist gloves or opera length, over the elbow opaque gloves.

Silky fabric gloves of white, black and any colour in between that reach above your elbow will help you perfect this hot catwalk trend. Vera Wang even paired some of her gowns with dramatic long black leather gloves. If you think that look might be a bit too much you could also consider a more subtle version of the trend with sheer or lacy wrist gloves which will give vintage elegance to any gown.

Ruffles

The word ‘ruffles’ might have you running for the hills but designers have made a surprisingly good job of making ruffles wearable and desirable and there are sure to be lots of brides walking down the aisle in Spring 2014.

Ruffles on a wedding dress add movement and dimension, sometime allowing you to get away with an otherwise very minimalist design. Ruffles in 2014 are being used sparingly on dress hems and shoulder (but not the way they were in the 80s!) as well as in fuller fishtail style dresses and even as a single long ruffle down the front of dresses.

Colour

The traditional white and cream wedding dresses are taking a back seat in Spring 2014 and will be replaced by subtle colours. Powder blues, pale yellow and delicate blush pinks that will complement the blushing brides’ cheeks will be the popular colour choices for the upcoming Spring 2014 wedding season.
Completely solid blocks of colour won’t be the only way to wear this look. Think floral prints highlighted with subtle pastel colours and ombre washes of subtle hues.
The trick to pulling off this wedding dress trend, is to find a colour that perfectly complements your skin tone. The beauty of this trend is that you can still choose the style of the dress, either frilly and ruffled or plain and minimalist, that you prefer and update it with an injection of colour. If you’re not brave enough to try a pastel dress you could always try adding a splash of colour with your flowers by having a pastel coloured bouquet!

Whatever trend you choose to follow or not to follow, we know you’ll look stunning on your big day in a wedding dress that is perfect for you!

GALIA LAHAV’S WEDDING DRESS COLlECTION 2013 /2014

Galia Lahav is recognized in Israel and abroad with prestige and elegance thanks to her unique and luxurious designs of evening dresses and bridal gowns. She was born in Russia and was educated in Israel. Galia was involved in art and teaching for 15 years and in her 30′s found the way to express her big love to fashion, romance and sensuality and started to design haute couture bridal and evening dresses at her fashion house. Galia Lahav’s collections are spectacular and unique and exhibit modern style while emphasizing the small details, the sewing quality and luxurious European imported fabrics.
Galia Lahav’s wedding dress collection is impossibly gorgeous – each more show stopping than the next with the kind of exquisite detailing, adornments and applique that you just can’t take your eyes off. It makes me quite tongue tied just looking at these images, so I’m going to hand you over to the team at Galia Lahav to share a little more about the collection…

Galia Lahav’s Wedding Dress Collection 2013-2014

This season Galia Lahav’s bride explores the French Riviera, sails her yacht and rides her Harley Davidson from the heels of Monte Carlo, to the hot white graveled beaches in Cannes. From the film festival, the Casino and the royal palace in Monaco this is where royalties, actors, super-models, and celebrities meet and this collection is inspired by two princesses, on and off screen Brigitte Bardot and Grace Kelly. Body-hugging silhouettes, softly embracing each curve, imperial ball gowns, and statuesque red carpet glamour dresses, all in a modern look, but with a wink at the sizzling 60s. Classic silk satins, chiffons, and French laces, Tulle and dotted net, mixed with hand embroidered details, using crystal and pearl embellishments, and antique cross-stitched ‘Gobelins’ medallions and floral motifs.
